Katowice “Energy of Meetings”
Special guests were: Rob Davidson - lecturer in business tourism at the University of Westminster in London, business tourism expert, Sławomir Wróblewski - President of Meetings Management and Jan Rudomino - Director of Polish Tourist Office in New York.
Topics discussed at the conference were devoted to:
- business tourism product development in the Silesia region
(Krzysztof Cieślikowski - lecturer at the Silesian School of Commerce) - transformation process of old industrial European centers in the modern meeting destinations
(Rob Davidson - lecturer in business tourism at the University of Westminster in London, business tourism expert) - experiences with the organization of European Economic Congress
(Agnieszka Jakubczyk - Head of Promotion Department in Polish Society for the Promotion of Enterprise Support) - a large hotel investment
(Tomasz Piórkowski – General Director in Angelo Hotel) - and corporate social responsibility, including the organization of green meetings
(Maciej Ogieniewski - Meeting Designers Owner)
Conference “Energy of Meetings” was a good opportunity to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of Katowice and the region and the opportunities and threats facing them in the context of the creation of their brand as an attractive place to host all kinds of business events. An important part of it was discussion on possible cooperation between the public and private sectors.
Conference “Energy of Meetings” was part of the promotional campaign of the business tourism product Katowice in the 67% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Regional Operational Programme Silesia for the period 2007 - 2013 and 33% from the budget of the Katowice City Hall.
