
On 17-21 March 2014, at the Conference Centre of the National Stadium, the „Meetings Week Poland” was held – a marathon of conference events promoting the importance of the meetings industry in Poland.Almost one thousand representatives of the meetings industry participated in the conferences and workshops as part of the Meetings Week Poland.
Main objectives of the project are education, promotion, integration of the environment and building dialogue between various sectors of the market.
The Meetings Week Poland was an educational platform, forum for the exchange of opinions and an attempt to find solutions on issues relevant to the industry. During five days of the conference, the invited guests and participants discussed the issues most important in terms of the industry development and formulated findings and postulates whose implementation was required to make it possible to talk about the competitiveness in the international aspect. The idea of the Meetings Week Poland is also to highlight the importance of the meetings industry for the national economy and its autonomy and value in terms of the implementation of business objectives.
Five days are seven different events prepared by the leading industry associations, MPI Poland Club, SKKP, SOIT, SBE and The Varsaw Voice. Poland Convention Bureau POT was involved in organising the following events:
- Inauguration of the Meetings Week Poland, during which President of POT, Rafał Szmytke, delivered a speech. On the first day “Poland – Meetings Destination” organised by The Warsaw Voice Conferences, there was also a discussion panel of local Convention Bureaux with participation of foreign guests.
- MPI Poland Club training was held on 20 March 2014 and its subject were modern technologies in meetings management.
- 2nd Conference “Meeting Standards – Specifications, Guidelines, Practice” – educational session organised by the Conferences and Congresses in Poland Association on 21 March 2014.
- In addition, on the occasion of the Meetings Week Poland, a meeting of regional CBx was held, during which the activities for 2014 were discussed.
In addition, during the meetings week, the members of the 2B Business Tourism Scientific Circle of Group of Vistula Universities organised the CSR project “Give away a book – share joy”. Each conference participant could bring books which would be provided to Children’s Homes of the “Our Home” Association in Warsaw, Kraków and Przemyśl.
The Meetings Week Poland was organised for the second time and its importance is highlighted by the involvement of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. This year’s Meetings Week Poland was held under honorary patronage of Mr Andrzej Biernat, Minister of Sport and Tourism.
