The latest edition of Switzerland’s largest international tourist fair, FESPO Zurich, was staged at the turn of January. Polish Tourism Organisation arranged an information booth under the slogan of “Time for Poland”, presenting cities and regions connected with Switzerland by means of direct flights.
The winter media campaign “Fall under the spell of Poland” proved to be a great success, with promotional activities carried out from mid-December 2018 to 10 January 2019. For the first time the content applied in the campaign was developed together by regional and local tourist organisations in cooperation with POT. In addition, the regions could also choose which target markets they wanted to bring their advertisements to.
Arousing great interest among Belgian and Dutch travellers, the Green Velo cycle path was the main product promoted by Polish Tourism Organisation and East Poland House at the Fiets en Wandel fair in Belgium. Krystian Herba, five-time Guinness record holder in bike trials, was inviting participants to the Polish stand.
The first three days of February were highly inspiring, both for tourists and the industry. Poznań hosted the jubilee 30th anniversary edition of TOUR SALON Trade Fair of Regions and Tourist Products. Polish Tourism Organisation received an award for a stand most conducive to the implementation of marketing strategies.
City tourism was the leitmotif of a promotional meeting held by Polish Tourism Organisation International Office in London for key representatives of Irish media, crucial tour operators and regional tourist organisations.
POT’s Beijing office in cooperation with Polish Institute, Department of Culture of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beijing, Seba Amber and Millennium City Park in Kaifeng opened the “Neverending Bond” Polish cultural exhibition celebrating 70 years of political relations between Poland and China, as well as the “One Belt, One Road” initiative connecting the two countries.
Organised by European Travel Commission in partnership with the city of Kraków and European Cities Marketing, the conference on Managing Sustainable Tourism Growth in Europe was held in Kraków on 6 February 2019. Polish Tourism Organisation hosted the event connected with the fourth annual meeting of European Travel Commission operation groups.
The FITUR 2019 International Tourism Fair in Madrid broke another record by drawing close to 143,000 professionals (an increase of 1.8%) and close to 100,000 visitors on days open to the public. Polish Tourism Organisation was among the participants and showcased a brand-new national booth.
