This year’s last session of Council of the sixth term of the Polish Tourism Organisation took place in Kazimierz Dolny on 14-15 December. The Council unanimously accepted changes in the POT Statute. The session was attended by President of the Polish Tourism Organisation Robert Andrzejczyk.

Already for the fourth time the Polish Tourism Organisation International Office in Amsterdam announced the winner of the “Vriend van Polen” annual award. The title is bestowed upon journalists particularly distinguished for describing the tourist merits of Poland.  

The “2017 - the Year of Tourism” conference held by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism in Warsaw on 19 December was dedicated to summaries and plans for the next year. A meeting with representatives of the tourism industry and the media was attended by, i.a. Vice-Minister of Sport and Tourism Dariusz Rogowski and President of the Polish Tourist Organisation Robert Andrzejczyk.

A successive out-of-town session of the Social Tourism Council of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism took place on 15-16 December in the Compressor Chamber of the “Guido” Coal Mine in Zabrze. The meeting was attended by President of the Polish Tourism Organisation Robert Andrzejczyk.

About 110,000 tourists benefited from the offer of the autumn edition of “Poland See More – Weekend at Half Price”, which took place on 6-8 October 2017. 

The Polish Tourism Organization International Office in Beijing takes part in Chengdu International Tourism Expo CITE 2017, the most important industry fair in Central-Western China.  

New technologies in the Polish Tourism Organisation involve not only VR Polska 360-degree films, but also a prestigious competition for start-ups active in tourism. The second edition of “New Tech - New Travel”, in which we award young and dynamically developing Polish firms whose driving force is innovation in tourism, begins today.  

The Board of the Tourist Information Forum summed up its two-year term of office at a session held in Mielno on 27-28 November. The discussion also dealt with problems apparent in the Polish System of Tourist Information.

For a long time the Polish Tourism Organisation International Office in Brussels has been pursuing a series of projects advertising Lower Silesia and Wrocław as a new tourist destination for Belgian visitors. This venture is connected with the introduction of a direct flight connection between Belgium and Wrocław, the first for several years.
