The prestigious Salon International Tourisme Voyages tourism and travel show took place in Montreal on 20-22 October. More than 400 exhibitors from 100 countries included Poland, represented by the Polish Tourism Organisation International Centre in New York, with the support of the Paris-based POT centre.

In the second half of October Poland hosted the annual convention of the Mapaplus group, with tour operators from numerous Latin American countries and Spanish-speaking parts of the USA analysing results from 2017. During the event they also discussed new European tour programs for their clients, i.a. stays in Poland.

Almost 60 representatives of the tourism industry in the Pomorskie (Pomeranian) region! 30 foreign tour operators and more than 640 meetings lasting a total of 9,450 minutes! This is the outcome of the fourth edition of the InComing Poland Gdańsk & Pomorskie Region training session. The co-organiser of the event was the Polish Tourism Organisation.

An annual meeting of directors of Polish Tourism Organisation International Centres was held on 23-24 October in the seat of the Polish Tourism Organisation in 8 Chałubińskiego Street. In its course President of the Polish Tourism Organisation Robert Andrzejczyk accentuated that next year POT will undergo extensive and positive changes.

International Tourism Fair World Travel Show offers an opportunity to travel all over world. In the course of three days the participants will be able to visit stands of more than 200 countries and regions from every part of the globe. Mexico is the partner country of World Travel Show, which was honoured by the presence of, i.a. Under Secretary of State in the Ministry of Sport and Tourism Dariusz Rogowski, President of the Polish Tourism Organisation Robert Andrzejczyk, and Alejandro Negrin, Ambassador of Mexico to Poland.

Last week in Kyiv was dedicated to fairs. First, the 27th International Medical Exhibition “Public Health” was held at the International Exhibition Center in Brovarsky Prospect, and already on the next day the 24th Ukraine International Travel Market (UITM 2017), the largest event of this sort in the Ukraine, was launched in the same hall.

The 10th World Medical Tourism Congress was held in Los Angeles on 3-5 October. This is the largest global industry event attracting more than 3,000 participants and exhibitors.

IFTM TOP RESA, the largest event intended for the tourism industry to take place in France, wrapped up in Paris. Exhibitors from all over the world gathered in hall no. 1 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. More than 500 travel agencies, airlines, hotels, resorts, and agencies included the Polish Tourism Organisation International Centre in Paris with a stand displaying Polish tourism industry representatives active in the French market.

Celebrations of World Tourism Day, held in Cieszyn on 21 September, were attended by Robert Andrzejczyk, President of the Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT). On the same day the Ministry of Sport and Tourism together with POT, the Municipal Office in Cieszyn, the Association of Development and Regional Co-operation “Olza”, and Tauron Ciepło Co. Ltd. conducted a conference on “The tourism brand – the foundation of effective regional and national promotion”.
