POT’s webinars promote Poland in the Italian market

Polish Tourism Organisation conducted the second in a series of webinars aimed at the Italian industry and intended to introduce travel agents to the offer of Polish cities and regions distinguished by stunning natural features. The webinars were designed as a training tool offering concrete proposals of thematic routes focused on significant historical figures (Pope John Paul II and Frederic Chopin in the case of the first webinar) and attractive wonders of nature as yet undiscovered by tourists from Italy (Podlasie, Warmia and Masuria in the case of the second webinar).

New financing to support companies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic

Polish Agency for Enterprise Development allocated an impressive sum of 2.5 billion PLN in the recently announced “Working capital grants” project intended to help maintain the business operations of companies feeling the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds are available under the Smart Growth and Eastern Poland Operational Programmes. Application process opens on 15 May.

POT launched the “Rest in Poland” campaign

Poles miss travelling, says a study commissioned by Polish Tourism Organisation. Domestic tourism starts recovering due to successive stages of economic reopening. To support the Polish tourism sector, POT inaugurated the “Rest in Poland” campaign intended to motivate Poles to explore their homeland. The project was developed in cooperation with regional and local tourism organisations.

Extended deadline for submitting applications for the Marco Polo award recognising cooperation with the Chinese market

The Ministry of Development announced that the deadline for submitting applications for the Marco Polo Award recognising cooperation with the Chinese market was extended to 30 June. The decision was made unanimously by the Marco Polo Award Workgroup. Polish Tourism Organisation and the Ministry of Development continue to encourage all businesses cooperating with the Chinese market to submit their applications.

“We are waiting for you!” competition results announced

At the turn of April Polish Tourism Organisation inaugurated the “We are waiting for you!” competition designed to continue spontaneous campaigns (e.g. #Lubelskiepoczeka or #MiastoPoczeka) launched by local organisations to assure tourists that respective cities and regions await their return when it once again becomes safe to travel. “We are waiting for you!” was born from Polish Tourist Organisation’s intention to support tourism products.

Choose a voucher

Vouchers for tourist events guaranteed by the Tourist Compensation Fund

Businesses staging tourist events can offer vouchers to be used in the future as a compensation for packages cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Polish Tourism Organisation and the Ministry of Development advocate this form of refunding advance payment. The voucher is guaranteed by the Tourist Compensation Fund. Do not cancel - reschedule! There is no risk involved.

POT surveys Poles’ travel plans

From 4 May hotels and accommodations facilities will reopen for business and take appropriate safety precautions.  According to a survey commissioned by Polish Tourism Organisation, more than 30% of Polish tourists are planning a short trip still in May or June. In addition, a new decisive factor has emerged - enhanced hygiene practices.
