Last weekend Poland was the main subject of the travel radio show La Grande Evasion (The Great Escape) broadcast live by the Belgian VivaCité station on Saturday afternoons. VivaCité is Belgium’s second most popular French-language station with more than 500,000 listeners tuning in every day.

Polish Tourism Organisation took part in a virtual trade show staged with EU funding by Aviareps for the Chinese market. The event involved 40 European exhibitors, including representatives of tourism organisations, hotel chains, travel agencies, transport operators, as well as more than 60 Chinese tourism companies interested in the European offer.  

European Commission launched a new interactive tool intended to provide the latest information on options of travelling to EU member states, lifted restrictions, free movement, quarantine requirements and the overall health situation. Re-Open EU is available in 24 languages.

Polish Tourism Organisation published its first live streams via Chinese travel platforms. The new and innovative form of promotion in the Asian market initially focused on Poznań and Warsaw.

Polish Tourism Organisation conducted the second in a series of webinars aimed at the Italian industry and intended to introduce travel agents to the offer of Polish cities and regions distinguished by stunning natural features. The webinars were designed as a training tool offering concrete proposals of thematic routes focused on significant historical figures (Pope John Paul II and Frederic Chopin in the case of the first webinar) and attractive wonders of nature as yet undiscovered by tourists from Italy (Podlasie, Warmia and Masuria in the case of the second webinar).

Polish Agency for Enterprise Development allocated an impressive sum of 2.5 billion PLN in the recently announced “Working capital grants” project intended to help maintain the business operations of companies feeling the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds are available under the Smart Growth and Eastern Poland Operational Programmes. Application process opens on 15 May.

On the night of 12-13 June Poland is going to restore full traffic within the internal borders of the European Union, abolishing the temporary border control reintroduced in March. Border guards will now perform only random checks.

Poles miss travelling, says a study commissioned by Polish Tourism Organisation. Domestic tourism starts recovering due to successive stages of economic reopening. To support the Polish tourism sector, POT inaugurated the “Rest in Poland” campaign intended to motivate Poles to explore their homeland. The project was developed in cooperation with regional and local tourism organisations.

Arranged by Krynica Tourism Organisation, 5th Krynica Bike Rally from Krynica Morska to Krynica-Zdrój starts today under the patronage of President of Polish Tourism Organisation.  

The Ministry of Development announced that the deadline for submitting applications for the Marco Polo Award recognising cooperation with the Chinese market was extended to 30 June. The decision was made unanimously by the Marco Polo Award Workgroup. Polish Tourism Organisation and the Ministry of Development continue to encourage all businesses cooperating with the Chinese market to submit their applications.
