The culture and art are the legacy left by generations living in Gdańsk for over a thousand of years. The city’s difficult history has not always allowed to preserve authentic works of art. Centuries-old buildings which can be admired today in Gdańsk, were rerected in the 20th century after they had been damaged during the war they still present great value. They help to feel the atmosphere of historic Gdańsk.
The seaside location of the city has always been a chance for development and a life of affluence. These enabled the development of art. It is similar today. Free from prejudice, interested in others, curious about world and in every matter acting accordingly to the sentence written on the coat of arms of the city „without fear, but with the deliberation”. These are the people living in this beautiful city, expressing in different forms ”what for them in the heart of hearts is playing”. Organizers of international meetings say that they came to Gdańsk, because the city is proud, overfilled with thoughts about FREEDOM. Gdańsk inhabitants, who are not afraid of competition, always say that they are from Tri-City. Cultural achievements and artistic successes are the work of people inhabiting three friendly cities (Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia), where the borders disappeared a long time ago. We are no longer in one city of Gdańsk we are in the Metropolis. Sopot offers its youthful enthusiasm of students. Gdynia shows the route to success in the business and is attracts yachtsmen from all over Poland. We should not speak about the culture and art, we should give you the chance to see the objects of Tri-City the entire world is enthusing about.
