2Lublin is the city with 700-years old history where three cultures meet: Christian, Orthodox and Judaic. Lublin Old Town is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Poland. It impresses the unique authenticity, originality and atmosphere of previous centuries. Piwnica pod Fortuną walls are covered with Renaissance polychrome – unique paintings of secular theme.

Holy Trinity Chapel at Lublin Castle is one of the most precious monuments of medieval art, with Byzantine and Russian frescos. Lovers of history and art should also visit places such as Donjon – the main tower at Lublin Castle (the monument of Romanesque art, one of the oldest buildings in the region), the Court of the Crown in the middle of the Old Town Square, the Basilica of Dominicans, the Trinitarian Tower, the Cathedral and the open air Village Museum in Lublin.

 

Lublin witnesses the history of East European Jews that you can see by visiting the historical rabbinical school – Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin, the NN Theatre (in the Grodzka Gate in the Old Town) or the State Museum at Majdanek.

 

Lublin is also a space of high culture with the a wide range of theatres, philharmonic, the only scene operatic – operetta on the right side of the Vistula, museums and galleries.
