The Convention Bureau of Poland PTO has signed its first cooperation agreements, which form a charter of rights and responsibilities for all the Convention Bureaux in Poland, and aim at systematising all actions contributing to the joint promotion of Poland, its regions and its cities, as business tourism destinations.
These agreements will also define the terms of cooperation and the principles for choosing reliable partners who will provide professional services to business entities looking to organise their meetings and events in Poland.
The most important provisions of the agreements assume that the Convention Bureau is the first institution to contact when looking for information on the possibility of organising a meeting in Poland/a region/a city and that it performs the role of advisor and consultant on conference organisation opportunities in Poland.
What’s more, the Convention Bureau runs a certification programme for local partners dealing in the professional organisation of meetings and events, and it collects and processes statistical data on meetings and events held throughout the country, according to the guidelines prepared by the World Tourism Organisation.
The first agreements were signed with the Gdańsk Convention Bureau, and Convention Bureau Szczecin.
The document proposed by the Convention Bureau of Poland PTO was prepared by a group of four people: Anna Górska (Gdańsk Convention Bureau), Katarzyna Parysek (Poznań Convention Bureau), Anna Witkowska (Warsaw Convention Bureau), and Krzysztof Celuch (Convention Bureau of Poland).
Anna Górska, CEO of Gdańsk Convention Bureau: “I am very glad that the agreement has been signed, as it systematises the cooperation between the CBP and the Local Convention Bureaux (such as the GCB) within the framework of the actions included in it. I also hope that thanks to this agreement we will avoid accusations of competing with Pomeranian companies in the organisation of conferences.”
Anna Witkowska, Deputy Director of Warsaw Tourism Office Warsaw Convention Bureau: “The appreciation of cooperation is for us all – municipal Convention Bureaux is a valuable document, since it facilitates the improvement in cooperation between the Convention Bureau of Poland and municipal Convention Bureaux.”
Krzysztof Celuch, Manager of the Convention Bureau of Poland: “Convention Bureaux in Poland are still rapidly-developing institutions that create their image through active marketing actions and cooperation with partners in the regions. I hope that this agreement will help us promote the Polish meetings and events industry abroad even more effectively.”
