In mid-September Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna – POT) joined forces with LOT Polish Airlines, Warsaw Convention Bureau and Gdańsk Convention Bureau to stage a fam trip for French journalist Luc Citronot. The tour centred on two goals of considerable interest in view of the current market situation: potentially attractive destinations for the meetings industry and Gdańsk and Malbork’s tourism highlights for Asian travellers.

The stay enabled Luc Citronot to become familiar with the present-day state of Poland’s meetings industry and its perspectives for the next several years. He also verified the offer and potential of Warsaw and Gdańsk as first-rate destinations for the discussed market segment.

In addition, the French journalist’s meeting with Paweł Rozen of Warsaw Convention Bureau inspired an interview available on a business travel portal (https://www.voyages-d-affaires.com/interview-rozen-mice-varsovie-20200924.html). The publication covers, i.a. information about the meetings industry’s current condition, forecast for the coming months and years, government financial support for MICE sector companies, and cooperation with hotels. In addition, the interview turned out to be an excellent opportunity to promote the new “Safe MICE venue” self-certification programme.

Finally, Citronot’s visit was not limited to the meetings industry. The French journalist also discussed Gdańsk and Malbork’s tourism strong points in an article for the Asian-centric www.asianstraveleurope.com portal. The two Pomeranian cities were presented as intriguing European sightseeing destinations for tourists hailing from Asia.
