Bydgoszcz, often called a city of music, is a significant cultural centre in Poland. The Pomeranian Philharmonic Hall, widely renowned for its perfect acoustics every year hosts famous musicians during the Bydgoszcz Music Festival and the Musica Antiqua Europae Orientalis Festival.
In the Opera Nova House one can admire Polish and world famous artists during the Bydgoszcz Opera Festival. On the stage of the Polish Theatre managed by the Paszport Polityki laureate Paweł Łysak, most interesting Polish premiers are performed within the framework of the Premiere Festival.
Thanks to the variety of music clubs and pubs everyone will find their best place to listen to jazz (“Eljazz’), alternative music (“Mózg”), blues (“Węgliszek’), or rock (“Kuźnia”). As to the exhibitions, the District Museum boasts the largest collection of works of Leon Wyczółkowski. The Municipal Gallery BWA is where contemporary artists from all over the world place their modern, alternative installations.
