Two large routes run across Kraków and its surroundings: national road no. 7 from north to south (Gdańsk-Chyżne), forming a part of the European E77 route, and a part of the European E40 route, which in Poland stretches from Zgorzelec in the west to Korczowo in the east.
The network of roads allows for efficient arrival from Kraków to the remaining, larger centres of the region. For example, the journey by car to Warsaw last ca. 4h and to Zakopane ca. 2h.Kraków itself is divided into three traffic zones, with total or partial “no vehicles restriction” in A and B zones, while P, P1 and P2 zones are pay-and-display parking zones.
