Szczecin is situated in the nord-west of Poland, 10 km from German border and about 100 km from the seaside. National roads that cross Szczecin are:
A-6: directly from Berlin (130 km far away from Szczecin) to Gdansk,
A-3: from Swinoujscie (ferry port) to Jakuszyce (border with Czech Republik),
10: from Warsaw (crossing Torun, Bydgoszcz, Piła) to Lubieszyn (German border),
13: from Kołbaskowo (German border) to Szczecin Centre.
It is also easy to reach Szczecin by bus from any place in Poland and from Berlin (microbuses to Alexander Platz, Zoo Bahnhof and airports every hour).
City is divided into two parts by the Odra river with its numerous islands and getting from one part to another takes about 20 minuts, so put it into consideration planning a car-trip to Szczecin. Centre of the city is not so overcrowded by cars, so it’s quite easy to move.
