Poland Convention Bureau was created in 2002 as a department of Polish Tourism Organisation and is responsible for the promotion of Poland as an attractive destination for meetings and business events.
We are the first contact for anyone seeking information on business partners and conference facilities, who is planning to organize association congress or a corporate event in Poland.
Our main goal is to build the image of Poland as an attractive country for organising of all types of business events. We realize our mission through:
participating in international business fairs, which results in gaining new business contacts;
organising study tours for foreign journalists and organizers of meetings and business events, including conferences, congresses, product launches, incentives;
gaining new business events for Poland;
cooperating with foreign media and posting articles and advertisements promoting Poland as a business destination in business press and directories;
cooperating with city convention bureaux;
networking with Polish business sector within Recommendation Program for Professional Congress Organizers, Recommendation Program for Incentive Travel Companies;
networking with the Polish scientific community within Polish Congress Ambassadors Program;
cooperating with international organisations and associations of meeting industry professionals;
collection and elaboration of statistical data on Polish meeting industry, in accordance with the recommendations of international organisations such as ICCA - International Congress and Convention Association and the UIA - Union of International Associations, engaged in similar rankings.
The Polish Tourism Organization is a member of the meetings industry associations: International Congress and Convention Association and Union of International Associations.
Thanks to the efforts of EXPO XXI Warsaw, supported by Warsaw Convention Bureau, the Polish capital has been short-listed for hosting the largest congress of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) in 2019. Select destinations and offers will be presented and results announced at this year’s Dubai–set ISBT event on 3 September 2016.
On 7 July 2016 Hotel Art Wroclaw held a meeting of representatives of meeting industry. The event was organized by Convention Bureau - Wrocław. During the meeting guests had the possibility to get acquainted with issues related to the current situation, and the future of the meetings industry in Wrocław as well as its new tourist attractions and important events taking place in Wroclaw.

From June 23-25, professional event planners from Germany took part the fam trip in Warsaw, a gathering designed to give them a taste of what the city has to offer as meetings destination. Organised by Travel Projekt DMC Poland in cooperation of Lufthansa, Hilton Worldwide, Warsaw Convention Bureau and Polish Tourist Organisation in Berlin and Poland Convention Bureau PTO.
Travel Project DMC Poland received recommendation of PCB PTO for the next two years as a professional incentive travel company. The aim of the recommendation Programme is to identify and support entities which provide professional and comprehensive services in organising and holding congresses in Poland.
Sarath Wattdegara, managing director at Sunray Travels & Consultancy, attended a fam trip to Warsaw on 4-6 June. The Swedish company specialises in counselling and comprehensive services aimed at visitors from Sweden and Asia travelling to Europe.

What is the value of Poland’s meetings industry? What economic benefits are generated by events, both for their organisers and the economy as a whole? The recently launched Poland Meetings Impact project is Poland’s first and the world’s seventh study intended to estimate the economic value of the meetings sector.
On the 20-22 of May 2016 Hilton Worldwide in cooperation of Poland Concept DMC ,Warsaw Convention Bureau and Poland Convention Bureau PTO organized a Fam Trip for 10 representatives of the UK agencies. Their goal was to get to know more about Warsaw and its meeting industry potential.
2015 witnessed a record-breaking number of more than 12,000 international meetings of associations, 571 more than in the previous year. The USA continues to lead the way in the category of countries, while Berlin triumphed among cities, leaping from fourth place and overtaking Paris, last year’s winner.

The Council of the Polish Congress Ambassadors Programme, entrusted with the task of selecting the group of twenty winners of this year’s edition, will meet for a session held at the Polish Tourist Organisation head office on 3 June. The current Council members will become familiar with the profiles of all 38 contenders for the prestigious title.
The next edition of IMEX, the international meetings industry trade fair was held on 19-21 April in Frankfurt. As each year, Poland Convention Bureau of Polish Tourist Organisation has organised the Polish national booth, where regional Convention Bureaus, companies operating in the organisation of meetings and conference facilities presented their offers.
