Poland Convention Bureau was created in 2002 as a department of Polish Tourism Organisation and is responsible for the promotion of Poland as an attractive destination for meetings and business events.
We are the first contact for anyone seeking information on business partners and conference facilities, who is planning to organize association congress or a corporate event in Poland.
Our main goal is to build the image of Poland as an attractive country for organising of all types of business events. We realize our mission through:
participating in international business fairs, which results in gaining new business contacts;
organising study tours for foreign journalists and organizers of meetings and business events, including conferences, congresses, product launches, incentives;
gaining new business events for Poland;
cooperating with foreign media and posting articles and advertisements promoting Poland as a business destination in business press and directories;
cooperating with city convention bureaux;
networking with Polish business sector within Recommendation Program for Professional Congress Organizers, Recommendation Program for Incentive Travel Companies;
networking with the Polish scientific community within Polish Congress Ambassadors Program;
cooperating with international organisations and associations of meeting industry professionals;
collection and elaboration of statistical data on Polish meeting industry, in accordance with the recommendations of international organisations such as ICCA - International Congress and Convention Association and the UIA - Union of International Associations, engaged in similar rankings.
The Polish Tourism Organization is a member of the meetings industry associations: International Congress and Convention Association and Union of International Associations.
The 2nd Summit of Polish Cardiac Society’s Cardiac Surgery Section was Poland’s first medical event to apply the virtual platform Avatarland. The adopted formula responded to the current pandemic conditions and demonstrated that innovative solutions make it possible to stage safe events.
Seven higher education institutions in the Śląskie voivodeship stage one of Europe’s largest popular science events - Silesian Science Festival Katowice. Its four editions so far attracted 150,000 participants of hundreds of lectures and workshops, attending more than 700 presentations and appearances of more than 80 special guests. 200,000 science enthusiasts took part in online events.

Covering international convention destinations, the 2020 edition lists the world’s top 101 cities, which have hosted 87 or more international conventions over the past three years as reported by the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA).
Prof. dr hab. inż. The social media campaign in the form of a dialogue involved members of Warsaw Tourism Organisaton (Warszawska Organizacja Turystyczna – WOT). Posts tagged with #TylkoRazem showcase the new offer of restaurants, museums and hotels adapted to the current sanitary regime.
For the first time ever assuming a fully virtual form, this year’s edition of IBTM World has wrapped up. As is the case each year, Polish Tourism Organisation hosted the Polish national stand. According to organizer report Polish profile was the 3rd most viewed profile of IBTM World Virtual.
The latest fam trip in the “It’s been a while - let us meet in Poland” series was staged on 14-15 December under the title of “Łódź - the last unexplored city”. Held by Poland Convention Bureau in cooperation with Łódź Convention Bureau and the Site Poland association, the event was intended to introduce incentive travel organisers and clients to the potential of Łódź to.
Staged on 10 December 2020, the latest edition of the annual meeting of the Wrocław Congress Ambassadors Club adopted an online format. Inspired by the present-day situation and prioritising the health of participants, this decision did not afflict the exchange of opinions and views about the meetings industry’s future.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, digital contact channels have become the very basis of our daily communication. In consequence, we joined forces with POT’s International Offices to intensify online promotion aimed at meetings industry representatives and intended to sustain the demand for Poland and build trust among meeting & event planners.
“It’s been a while - let us meet in Poland” is the concept behind a series of Destination Poland fam trips implemented by POT PCB in cooperation with municipal convention bureaux and the SITE Poland association. The goal of the project is to present the potential of Poland’s particular regions to incentive travel organisers and customers.
On 17 October (Saturday) new safety-related restrictions were introduced in both red and yellow zones, affecting event planning and food service industry. 152 counties, constituting half of Poland, are now classified as red zones. The list mostly consists of densely populated districts, cities and large urban centres.
