On 23-26 January, the “Unique Winter Experience” FAM TRIP took place in Warsaw. This time, the capital city of Poland hosted organisers of events from new priority markets: Belgium, Holland and Sweden. For the first time, this event accompanied the international ITM Warsaw fair, where one of the lead subjects was the meetings industry – ITM Business Tourism.
On the first day out guests had an opportunity to learn about the history, the most interesting attractions and monuments during a familiarisation trip through Warsaw, and a chance for networking at the welcome dinner.
The leitmotif of the second day were industry meetings. Together with Warsaw Convention Bureau, we presented assets of Poland and Warsaw and invited our guests to visit the ITM Warsaw Fair. Next, a meeting was held with representatives of the Polish industry – recommended companies specialising in organisation of conferences and incentive trips. The much-deserved break in-between the business obligations were culinary workshops with the chief of the Sheraton Hotel and tasting of jointly prepared food.
On the third day, winter kept us warm. In the morning, our guests had an occasion to try themselves at the increasingly-popular curling. The evening was spent in Serock near Warsaw, at Narvil Conference & Spa. The main attractions of that part of the day were ICE Show and Workshop and a traditional Polish dinner. The participants who feared not cold, could make ice sculptures, instructed by professionals.
It was the first event of the kind in 2013, and the second of the series organised under the Project: “Let’s Promote Poland Together”, co-funded by the European Union. The Project is implemented by the Polish Organisation of Tourism and it is meant to promote Poland as an attractive destination, also in the context of meetings industry.
The next event in the FAM TRIP series is planned to take place in May 2013 in Wrocław and the Region.
