The Ferienmesse Wien – the leading tourism fair in Austria – takes place in Vienna on 11-14 January. This prestigious event is attended also by the Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna – POT) that developed an almost 50-metre stand. The exhibitors include the region of Małopolska with the Municipality of Kraków, the Tarnów Information Centre, Region Silesia, city offices of Bielsko-Biała and Zabrze, and the Pol Reisen travel agency.

The fair is not without Polish attractions. The get-together is a meeting with representatives of the media and industry specially invited to visit the Polish stand. The fair cinema will show the “Mazuria – the Land of a Thousand Lakes” presentation hosted by journalist Manfred Ruthard. On the culinary stage chef Rafał Friedrich will prepare and serve fish and game dishes.

The largest travel agencies in Austria, including Verkehrsburo, Ruefa Reisen, Dertour, TUI, and Railtours showcase offers alongside national tourism organisations associated in Corps Touristique.

Ferienmesse Wien, organized by Reed Exhibition Messe Wien, takes place in one of the most modern exhibition centres in Europe. The objective of the international event is to promote tourism, travel, and leisure. For some years now it is combined with a car show enabling top global producers to display new offers, the “Genusswelt” Culinary Fair, and Bike Village Vienna.

The fair’s previous edition attracted 780 exhibitors from 70 countries, whose offers interested 150,000 visitors. These figures alone make the event one of the largest and most significant of its sort in Austria.
