Staying safe in the mountains – joint initiatives of POT and GOPR Foundation

President of POT Rafał Szlachta and President of GOPR Foundation Roman Dziedzic attended a meeting in the office of Polish Tourism Organisation. Its participants discussed proposals of joint undertakings intended to make tourists safe in the Polish mountains.

The meeting of Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna – POT) and Foundation of Mountain Volunteer Search and Rescue (Górskie Ochotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe – GOPR) was aimed to review hiking best practices and promote them to build a positive image of Polish mountains’ potential and safety.

POT will conduct information and education campaigns, both online and in traditional media, to reinforce the message that tourists spending their free time in the mountains need to obey specific rules and regulations. The agenda also included joint components of undertakings promoting safe active and sustainable mountain tourism in winter and summer.
