POT released a series of podcasts about Poland on the Italian market

The Polish Tourism Organisation has released a series of podcasts entitled “Viaggio in Polonia” in Italy. This is an innovative promotional product on the Italian market, co-run with Lonely Planet Italia. The first series consists of 6 episodes in which Poland is presented by the voice of the well-known radio journalist Doris Zaccone and many guest speakers, including mainly Italians living in Poland and enamoured with it.

Podcast cover

This is the first such project to promote Poland in a country where one can see significant increases in interest in podcasts. Italy is also one of Europe’s most heavily motorised countries, where this form of communication has a growing group of fans among the younger generation, focused on an informed choice of content and favouring podcasts over radio. In order to reach a new audience, our product was developed to introduce listeners to the most important topics and places that were most prominent in terms of product popularity in this market, with the hope that the project could be developed further in the future.

The series about Poland has been divided into sections by subject, with the most attention paid to the most iconic Polish cities, both those already popular among Italian tourists and those which have gained increasing popularity in recent years. As a result, there are episodes devoted to Kraków, Warsaw, Gdańsk, Wrocław and Poznań, but there are also interesting pieces of culinary trivia and unusual descriptions of nature in Poland. Thanks to posting on all podcast platforms (Spotify, Google Podcast, Apple Podcast, Spreaker, Amazon Music, Deezer, Podcast addict, Jio Saavn, Podchaser), promotional activities, as well as a special tab on the website of Lonely Planet Italia, the project has reached a wide audience.

While working on the project, the POT International Office in Rome organised a press trip for Doris Zaccone and the director of Lonely Planet in September this year and worked closely on the script of each episode.
