Two representatives of the prestigious guidebook took part in a fam trip to Poland staged on 11-16 February. Arranged by the Polish Tourism Organisation International Office in London, the discussed trip was divided into two thematic sections. The first one concerned the promotion of Kraków’s food scene and was connected with the largest city of Małopolska receiving the title of the European Capital of Gastronomic Culture. The second part was dedicated to the promotion of active tourism and the folklore of Podhale.

Lonely Planet reporters took part in, i.a. the Highlander Carnival in Bukowina Tatrzańska, a dog sled ride, workshops of making oscypek smoked sheep milk cheese and highlander embroidery. The visit of British journalists would be incomplete without hiking trips to Mt. Kasprowy Wierch, Mt. Gubałówka and Dolina Małej Łąki valley. The Lonely Planet representatives used their social media to provide constant coverage of the expedition.

The print issue of the magazine featuring an account of the trip to Poland will be published in early 2020. The press trip was organized in partnership with Kraków Municipality and Małopolska Tourist Organisation.
