Polish health resorts, orthopaedic, rehabilitation and cardiology clinics plus dental offices acted as the basis of the medical tourism offer promoted by Polish Tourism Organisation at the World Travel Market 2019 trade show. Poland arranged the largest healthcare-centred presentation at the London event.

The three-day World Travel Market in London took place on 4-6 November. Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna – POT) once again showcased the offer of medical tourism as part of a project promoting health-targeted services (sub-measure 3.3.2. Smart Growth Operational Programme “Promotion of economy based on Polish brand products – Polish Economy Brand”).

Visitors to the stand learnt more about the portfolio of Polish health resorts, orthopaedic, rehabilitation and cardiology clinics plus dental offices.

The invite-only day one resulted in numerous inquiries from visitors interested in sending medical school students to explore the operations of Polish hospitals as part of an internship programme. Day two was open to the public and had tour operators from the United Kingdom inquire about the available options of arranging stays of groups of senior citizens to take advantage of the offer of Poland’s spa & wellness centres.

As WTM’s largest presentation of medical offer, the Polish display naturally attracted the attention of companies from Lithuania, Greece and Iceland who were looking for sources of inspiration for further development of their national healthcare tourism sectors.
