POT receives Best Destination for Cultural Tourism award at Moscow’s MITT exhibition

The MITT Moscow exhibition is the most important industry event in Russia, gathering representatives of key tourism organisations and companies from the East and the Baltic States. Visitors can thus explore the tourist offer of more than 60 countries. Guests to the Polish national stand arranged by Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT) could use a gif photo booth or take part in a competition testing their knowledge about Poland. In addition, the hugely popular stand hosted a happy hour session attended by, i.a. Włodzimierz Marciniak, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Russian Federation, and Piotr Skwieciński, Head of the Polish Institute in Moscow.

As is the case each year, the exhibition featured an awards ceremony. While last year POT received an award in the category of Best Destination Promotion in Russia 2018, this time the organisers appreciated Polish cultural tourism and presented POT with the Best Destination for Cultural Tourism distinction.

“The promotion of cultural tourism constitutes our priority in the Russian market. Whenever deciding to go abroad, Russian travellers check the selection of highlights offered by a given country. They are particularly fond of cultural heritage, including castles, palaces and museums. We have a lot to offer in this area. It makes us very happy to see our efforts recognised by the discussed award”, says Magdalena Krucz, Head of the Moscow-based Polish Tourism Organisation International Office.

The list of categories, in which awards were presented, also included Best Spa Destination, Best Beach Destination in Europe and Best Destination in Asia.

Gdańsk Tourist Organisation, Polish Volleyball Federation, Furnel Travel International, INTOUR POLSKA, Wish to Travel tour operator and Pałac na Wodzie Emotions & Thermal SPA all showcased their offer as part of the Polish national stand.
