“Back to the Garden” with the Our Home Association

In 2013, the “Back to the Garden” Project will be organised in Children’s Home in Wrocław. 14 pupils in school age live in the Home. The previous editions of the project showed that a minimum of goodwill and work may do a lot in terms of the improvement of living conditions of children and youth. We invite to cooperation local meetings industry and we seek the involvement of residents of these institutions. Thus they have an opportunity to learn about the specificity of work in different sectors of meetings industry and learn about perspectives for the future.

Works under the project include development and modernisation of green areas and their adaptation to active recreation and leisure. Depending on the age of pupils, these are toys, sports equipment, garden furniture and equipment.

The mission of Our Home Association is to help children not living with their families to rebuild important for them family ties or find a new, safe home. The organisation conducts several programmes supporting foster families, as well as runs small children’s homes creating conditions similar to family life. Specialists employed there, work on reintegration of children with their own families or, if impossible, prepare them to independent, adult life. Our Home Association, established by Janusz Korczak is inspired by his pedagogical thought and current developments in psychology and social work based upon subjective, supporting approach to children and families.

We believe that the project implementation in the Wrocław children’s home will help to fully achieve the assumed objectives, it will give a lot of joy to children and create a friendly and inspiring environment for development and work.
