Report launch: Contemporary Roles of Convention Bureaux and the Competitiveness of Polish Cities in the International Meetings Market

Convention bureaux representing Polish cities participated in a project inspiring the report on Contemporary Roles of Convention Bureaux and the Competitiveness of Polish Cities in the International Meetings Market.

The research was conducted at Poznań University of Economics and Business as part of a project granted by the Polish National Science Centre (for more information, in Polish, see turystykawmiescie.org).

The discussed study made it possible to define the fundamental objectives of convention bureaux plus the direction of their evolution, depending on the level of competitiveness characterising the cities, in which they operate. On the one hand, it consisted of measuring the competitiveness of Polish cities in the international meetings market, and on the other - on indicating the roles that CBx should play in them.

The research was a part of a larger project also analysing the objectives and roles of foreign convention bureaux; in other words, the institutions that act as a role model or at least a point of reference for their Polish counterparts. More detailed information about foreign convention bureaux are covered by the Contemporary Roles of Convention Bureaux report, a crucial addition to Contemporary Roles of Convention Bureaux and the Competitiveness of Polish Cities in the International Meetings Market.
