New Polish Landmarks in Mini-Europe Park in Brussels
Every year, Mini-Europe attracts over 400,000 tourists, offering them miniature versions of Europe’s most famous landmarks. With these new additions representing Warsaw, Poland is strengthening its presence in one of Brussels' most renowned theme parks, which celebrates the unity and diversity of European heritage. This project takes on special significance in the context of Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union, emphasising its commitment to building Europe’s shared history and culture.
Tribute to Polish Cultural Icons
Łazienki Królewskie was designed at the initiative of King Stanisław August Poniatowski as a realisation of his vision of an ideal Enlightenment-era state. For centuries, the park has been known as "the happiest place in Warsaw" – a space filled with history, art, and nature. The Palace on the Isle is considered a masterpiece of Polish Neoclassicism.
Meanwhile, the Frédéric Chopin Monument pays tribute to Poland’s most famous composer. For over 65 years, free open-air concerts have been held beneath the monument in Łazienki Królewskie, attracting music lovers from around the world. In Mini-Europe, visitors will experience a recreation of these summer concerts, complete with a sound installation playing Chopin’s compositions.
Grand Opening Ceremony
The official opening ceremony for the new miniatures took place on 25 March 2025, and was hosted by Katarzyna Skórzyńska, Chargée d'Affaires a.i. of Poland in the Kingdom of Belgium, Dominika Szulc, Director of the Brussels Office of the Polish Tourism Organisation and Vinciane Meeus, Managing Director of Mini-Europe.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including:
- Philippe Close, Mayor of Brussels
- Małgorzata Wilk-Grzywna, Vice President of the Polish Tourism Organisation
- Maciej Fijałkowski, Secretary of the Capital City of Warsaw
“We are thrilled that the stunning landmarks of Warsaw will offer the visitors of Mini-Europe a deeper insight into the rich heritage of Poland’s capital. We also hope that the elegance of the Palace on the Isle and the captivating works of Frédéric Chopin will encourage people to take an interest in Poland as a tourist destination,” said Małgorzata Wilk-Grzywna, Vice President of the Polish Tourism Organisation.
The event is supported by the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, Poland’s capital region and the birthplace of Frédéric Chopin.
