Call for applications for the Kraków Science Conferences programme was closed on 5 February 2021. The project is intended to award funding to institutions organising science conferences in Kraków, and thus promoting the city as a great place for science.

Kraków Municipality launched the initiative in 2011 in cooperation with Polish Academy of Learning. This year, 250,000 PLN were allocated for the purposes of its implementation. To apply for funding, institutions have to stage an online or onsite conference in Kraków and take advantage of information and communication technology. The conference in question should not last less than two days with additional requirements involving the minimum number of participants (100) and an international scope. The selection process will place particular emphasis on the goal and subject matter of particular events. Due to procedural reasons, only conferences staged between 1 March and 10 December 2021 are eligible.

The conference selection will be handled by a special commission composed of representatives of the Kraków science community, including delegates of Jagiellonian University, AGH University of Science and Technology, Kraków University of Economics, Pedagogical University of Kraków, University of Agriculture in Kraków, University of Technology, Pontifical University of John Paul II, as well as Polish Academy of Learning, whose President will preside over the proceedings.
