Back to the Garden 2016 in Gdańsk

Gdańsk Tourist Organisation has actively joined the Back to the Garden project conducted by Polish Tourist Organisation and Our Home Association. Already at 9.30am on 23 May we will meet in the Dom nad Jarem children’s home (Gdańsk, 31b Nad Jarem Street) to help with all possible maintenance works. You are more than welcome to join us!

This is the latest edition of an initiative, which has representatives of local sectors and authorities extending their helping hand to the most needy institutions in Poland. After Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław and Przemyśl, now it’s time for Gdańsk.

The discussed undertaking is intended to help family-based children’s homes through the arrangement of renovation works and diverse highlights for their wards. Dom nad Jarem is this year’s choice of Our Home Association. We want to make the dreams of its residents come true and provide them with unforgettable moments that, unfortunately, otherwise would not be possible. Thanks to the cooperation of local communities, together we can help and create some wonderful memories for the children. While the kids will be enjoying seaside attractions in Gdańsk and Pomlewo (Hotel Kozi Gród), we will get down to work.

Upon our arrival, we will create three groups dedicated to carpeting, gardening and construction and do our best to spend the next eight hours in the most effective way possible.

Castorama, OBI, Hotel Kozi Gród, Movement Arena, Reborn Dance Studio, Miasto Gdańsk, MPA Poland, Leroy Merlin, Vivadental, Ogrodnictwo Jaśmin Remigiusz Bodel and PitStop Gdańsk have already declared their support. Piotr Kowalczuk, deputy mayor of Gdańsk, confirmed his participation.

It is still possible to become a partner of this exceptional event. Interested in supporting our activities? Please contact Anna Marzec of Gdańsk Tourist Organisation (Tel: 888-163-610). A big thanks in advance to anyone who can participate - all you need to do is show up at Dom nad Jarem on Monday 23 May, 9.30am, in your work clothes!

“Back to the Garden 2016 is the sixth edition of a project that features the meetings industry supporting local communities. I am glad that this year, together with Gdańsk Convention Bureau we will be supporting the child and adolescent wards of Our Home Association in Pomerania. I would like to thank all of our partners – see you soon!”, sums up Krzysztof Celuch, manager of Poland Convention Bureau – Polish Tourist Organisation.
