Week of Polish cuisine in France

The week of Polish cuisine is underway in Paris. Together with Bocuse d’Or Poland and the Paris Bistros Association, the Polish Tourism Organisation is running a campaign in France under the name “Discover Poland through its gastronomy”, which presents Polish culinary specialities to French palates.

The Polish Tourism Organisation, in cooperation with Bocuse d’Or Poland and the Paris Bistros Association, undertook to feature selected Polish dishes in the menu du jour (menu of the day), as a way to anticipate the coming Christmas. For this reason, the renowned Polish chef Adam Chrząstowski came to France to train French chefs in traditional Polish dishes. His partner is this project was Alain Fontaine, one of the most famous figures in the industry and the President of the L’Association Française des Maitres Restaurateurs.

The du jour menu is typically a special meal that the chef recommends to his customers on a given day. In December, Parisian restaurants will see Polish specialities in this category, such as beef cutlets, sour rye soup, duck with apples, sweet cheese pancakes, herring and roasted zander. The inauguration of the Polish Week took place in the restaurant “Le Mesturet” in the presence of French media and tour operators specialising in the Polish tourist offer. The guests could see a performance of the Polonez ensemble, which is currently celebrating 30 years of its activity in France.
