Waiting For You! Second Competition Begins

Overnight accommodation, museums and other cultural facilities running exhibitions are now allowed to open under a strict sanitary regime. It’s high time to remind everyone about some of Poland’s tourist attractions. To this aim, the Polish Tourism Organisation is accepting entries in the second edition of the Waiting For You! competition.

“This is just the first stage in the thawing of the Polish tourism sector. Hotels and other overnight accommodation may be open as of 12 February, while museums and galleries started welcoming guests more than a week earlier”, remarks Rafał Szlachta, president of the Polish Tourism Organisation. “The competition’s purpose is to remind everyone about all the attractions waiting for them in Poland, and to motivate them to start planning future travels. I hope that more facilities will be able to welcome tourists with every week. I would also like to encourage businesses to join the Polish Tourism Voucher programme. The amended law enables tourists to take advantage of the voucher also during one-day trips”, he added.

The Polish Tourism Organisation decided to hold another edition of the Waiting For You! competition to remind tourists that Poland has many attractive tourism products eagerly waiting to welcome visitors once again. The competition began on 15 February, entries may be submitted until 28 February.

The competition project is a video lasting from 15 to 30 seconds, inspiring tourists to visit a given facility once the social isolation period ends. The theme for the projects is the slogan Waiting For You!. The judges will choose the five best projects based on quality and creativity.

Entries are submitted via one of two file transfer tools: wetransfer.com or filemail.com, together with the sender’s email address, konkurs@pot.gov.pl as the recipient, as well as the film’s title and the name of the locality and province where the tourism service from the video is provided. Each entrant may submit one video.

Last year the competition was dedicated to award-winners of the Polish Tourism Organisation’s competitions, such as the POT Certificate, EDEN, The Countryside Is The Best. This year’s edition is for the tourism sector in a broad sense, namely tourism products, destinations, localities, overnight accommodation facilities, museums, etc.

The prize is a promotional campaign involving the presentation of the prize-winning videos on the POT’s social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter), including a paid campaign on the polska.travel Facebook profile.
