Polish Tourism Organisation International Office in Beijing capped the Chinese calendar year with the latest in a series of industry workshops promoting a joint tourist product of Poland and Sweden. This time brought to Shanghai, the meeting once again attracted numerous representatives of the local tourism industry.

Although a trip covering Poland and Scandinavia is hardly a novelty in Europe, products of this kind are only beginning to emerge in the Chinese market. At the same time, they are a perfect match for the expectations of Chinese tourists, enabling them to see more than one destination in a single trip. Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT) has thus set its sights on coming up with a high-quality programme developed together with the city of Warsaw and the region of Pomorze (Pomerania), making it possible for foreign travellers to gain a better understanding of our country.

Staged by POT, the workshops are the outcome of cooperation between its Beijing-based International Office with the Swedish province of Småland and the Stena Line ferry operator. The event also involved VisitSweden, Finnair and Silja Lines.

“The workshops we held so far received a very warm welcome from invited tour operators, who showed great interest in the discussed offer. What is more, our efforts have already produced first results - Beijing Shengxing International Travel Service, which took part in our workshops in Beijing and a fam trip to Poland arranged in December, was the first agency to incorporate a tourist product combining Poland and Sweden into its offer. We hope that other Chinese travel bureaux will follow suit in 2020 and that Poland will be increasingly often included in comprehensive travel programs”, sums up Zuzanna Gutkowska, head of POT’s International Office in Beijing.
