Evian-les-Bains is a well-known resort in the department of Haute-Savoie (Southeastern France) next to the Swiss border. The trade show in question is mostly aimed at the population of Alpine departments on both sides of the border, including residents of the near-by Geneva. The second most populous Swiss city offers regular flights to Warsaw handled by LOT Polish Airlines, Poland’s flag carrier.

During the trade show in Evian-les-Bains Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT) acted as a guest of honour. Our stand predominantly promoted cities and the food scene, as well as active tourism taking into account the favourite options of Haute-Savoie residents. Representatives of LOT Polish Airlines were also in attendance.

Taking advantage of the proximity of Geneva, its regular flight connection with Warsaw and the interest shown in our country by a large group of Haute-Savoie residents, Polish Tourism Organisation staged a press tour of Poland aimed at French and Swiss journalists. Guests visited Warsaw and Łódź, covering their experience in articles in the local press and online portals, i.a. La Liberté and 24heures.com.

Both the trade show participation and the press tour discussed above were intended to boost the promotional operations of POT and LOT Polish Airlines. Another goal involved increasing interest in Poland as a holiday destination and in city breaks. Delegates of Evian-les-Bains authorities, representatives of the region, as well as residents of Geneva and Lausanne visited the Polish stand. The Sunday issue of Le dauphiné libéré also covered Polish presence at the trade show.
