The Lisbon workshops staged by Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT) were intended to advance Poland’s tourist promotion in the Portuguese market by publicizing the Polish tourist offer aimed at Portuguese tour operators and incentive travel agencies. Another essential goal involved maintaining and building new business relations and introducing Portuguese participants to new tourist products and events that might inspire them to visit Poland in 2020.

The meeting was attended by 11 representatives of Polish institutions and travel industry - agencies, hotels, airlines, companies providing services for the incentive sector, as well as cities. On the part of Portugal, the event attracted more than 40 delegates of the local industry - tour operators, FIT agencies, event agencies, and trade media. Robert Andrzejczyk, President of POT, also took part in the workshop.

The market of Portugal’s outbound tourism, despite the growing number of trips arranged by individual travellers, maintains its traditional character. APAVT - Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies confirms that proposals of tour operators and travel agencies continue to be the main distribution channel. Talks followed a presentation of Poland as an attractive destination for tourist and business trips for the Portuguese and a brief profile of involved Polish institutions and tourist highlights participating in the event.

The workshops also marked the official launch of the latest, already 23rd edition of the National Tourist Portal aimed at the Portuguese market - polonia.travel/pt - where travellers can find all the most important information about our country, its tourist attractions and traditions. The promotion places particular emphasis on, i.a. Polish venues included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, national parks, religious tourism, Polish cuisine, as well as key cities. A special section is dedicated to essential information from the viewpoint of the Portuguese industry together with a corresponding list of contacts.
