Poland at Seniormässann trade show in Stockholm

The Stockholm-based edition of Seniormässan, a trade show centred on health tourism with particular emphasis on the needs of senior citizens, was staged on 1-3 October. The Polish presence was arranged as part of a project promoting health-targeted services (sub-measure 3.3.2. Smart Growth Operational Programme “Promotion of economy based on Polish brand products – Polish Economy Brand”).

This has already been the third time that Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT) presents its health tourism offer at Seniormässan. Visitors to the Polish stand inquired about a detailed offer of spa & wellness resorts, sanatorium resorts and treatments available in health resorts.

The Polish stand was arranged in a modern way and the promotional operations assumed a highly active and diverse way. To draw the attention of senior visitors and promote medical and rehab tourism, spa and wellness facilities, and medicinal products, we apply not only informational leaflets and brochures but also offer blood pressure tests with the help of an electronic monitor and tasting sessions of amber liqueur boasting health benefits.

Moreover, visitors filled out surveys dedicated to Polish natural assets and answered questions about what amber is made from or how saline baths work. Competitions arranged at the POT stand and aimed at fair participants were also a highly popular choice. Vouchers for stays in Poland and attractive consolation prizes were drawn every day among the most active guests.

This year’s Seniormässann recorded impressive turnout figures and the Polish stand was no exception. POT is hoping that this form of promotion will boost the number of Swedes travelling to Poland for medicinal treatments.
