The 3rd European Games Krakow-Małopolska 2023 will be held from June 21 to July 2, 2023.

The event will be hosted by the city of Krakow and Małopolska Region (Krynica Zdrój, Tarnów, Zakopane). The opening ceremony will take place on June 21 at the Krakow City Stadium. The closing ceremony of the Games will take place at the same venue on July 2. The European Games are twelve days of sports competition at the highest European level. Athletes from almost 50 European countries will compete at sports facilities in Krakow and in cities in Małopolska.

The program of the Games includes such Olympic sports as athletics, shooting, rugby 7, 3-on-3 basketball, mountain biking, boxing, archery, canoeing, fencing, modern pentathlon, table tennis, triathlon, badminton, breaking, judo, sport climbing, taekwondo and swimming.

There will also be competitions in such disciplines as BMX freestyle, kickboxing, beach handball, beach soccer, padel, karate, teqball, mountain running and ski jumping.

On the occasion of the European Games, the best athletes of the Old Continent will come to Poland. They will compete not only for European Games medals. After all, a good start will be a pass to the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024, and the competition in many other disciplines will at the same time be the European Championships

The European Games 2023  are first and foremost a boost for tourism hampered by pandemonium and travel restrictions. This is an opportunity not only for the region or cities that will benefit from the arrival of tourists from Poland and abroad, but above all for entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, shopkeepers or representatives of many other industries. Hosting the event is also an opportunity to create new jobs. Sporting events of international rank have always been a powerful stimulus to boost the economy and a factor in the revival of tourism.
