On 11 – 15 May 2010 Sue Sabatke from World Council of Credit Unions, USA had site inspection in Gdańsk. It was her second time in Gdańsk (first site inspection was 2 years ago) because of checking the possibility of reception of Gdańk and the region in the organization of the World Credit Union Conference in July of 2012.During the site inspection Sue Sabatke visited Gdańsk and Sopot hotels and she met with the representative of Gdańsk –Sopot Hall. There were also Gdańsk Shipyard, Polish Baltic F. Chopin Philharmonic in Gdańsk and Malbork Castle in her program.
This site inspection was coordinated by Gdańsk Convention Bureau and Convention Bureau of Poland invited Sue Sabatke at the dinner to the Brovarnia Restaurant, thereby emphasizing its support for World Credit Union Conference 2012 in Gdańsk.
So far, World Credit Union Conference was held in Italy, Ireland, Canada, Hong Kong, Spain and the USA. The conference was attended from 1200 to 2500 participants.
Gdańsk competitors are other european cities. The decision to grant the Gdańsk conference will be decided by the board of the World Council of Credit Unions in July this year.
