Travel Exhibition tourism fair was held in Budapest. The Polish Tourism Organisation had prepared a rich portfolio of health services and health resorts in Poland. The event was also an excellent opportunity to strengthen relations with the medical tourism industry.
The Polish Tourism Organisation, which consistently creates Poland as a destination for health tourism, was actively participating in Travel Exhibition, held from 3 to 6 March. The promoted services included medical tourism, medical facilities, rehabilitation facilities, spa & wellness facilities and Polish health resorts. These efforts were part of sub-measure 3.3.2 (“Promotion of the economy based on Polish product brands – Brand of the Polish Economy”) of the Smart Growth Operational Programme.
The stand prepared by POT in the Hungexpo Congress and Exhibition Centre in Budapest provided free catalogues, brochures of organisations as well as leaflets of hospitals and clinics. Visitors to the fair could consult an expert for more detailed information on the health care services they could use in Poland. In addition, they could enjoy an interesting programme of attractions prepared by the organisers.
The event was attended by Marcin Różycki, vice President of POT, who met with representatives of the tourist industry from Spain, Slovakia and Serbia, among others.
The Polish Tourism Organisation had noticed a growing trend in the interest in health services provided in our country in foreign markets. Health tourism, particularly medical tourism, stays at health resorts as well as SPA and wellness centres remains one of the leading areas of product campaigns carried out by POT.
The fair in Budapest was also an excellent opportunity to discuss the programme called “Polskie Uzdrowiska” (“Polish Health Resorts”), which is part of the government’s post-pandemic recovery plan. Municipalities which were hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic could apply for funds for infrastructure development from a total pool of 250 million PLN. Applications could be submitted by 11 March.
